Meet Your New Recruits

Dalton Barthlama

Dalton joins Frederick-Firestone Fire after serving as a reserve firefighter with Berthoud Fire. Before entering the fire service, Dalton worked as an automotive technician alongside his dad for two and a half years.

Dalton was drawn to FFFD because of the District’s strong culture and family-oriented environment. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, hiking, and snowboarding, as well as working on cars. Dalton recently married his wife, Cambree, and is excited to begin this next chapter as part of the FFFD family.

 

Ethan Bettis

Ethan joins Frederick-Firestone Fire, excited to learn, build relationships, and become part of the team. He looks forward to getting to know his fellow firefighters, developing his skills, and serving the community.

Ethan has been married to his wife, Kaley, for a little over a year. Kaley owns and operates her own digital marketing company. When he is not working or learning fire service skills, Ethan enjoys spending time outdoors. His favorite activities include camping, backpacking, fishing, and mountain climbing.

 

 

Aaron Goffee

Aaron began his fire service career in Indiana before moving to Colorado. After relocating, he spent two years working on an ambulance before joining Southeast Weld Fire, where he spent the past seven years.

Frederick-Firestone Fire stood out to Aaron for its strong family culture and commitment to the community. He is excited for the opportunity to expand his knowledge, take on new challenges, and find an agency where he can continue to grow both professionally and personally.

Aaron currently lives in Frederick with his wife, Olivia, and their four fur babies. He appreciates the community’s small-town feel, which reminds him of growing up in a close-knit community in Indiana as the only child of his amazing parents. For Aaron, joining Frederick-Firestone Fire is not only an opportunity to grow his career, but also a chance to become part of a community and organization he is proud to call home.

Chris Henninger

Chris joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with a Bachelor’s degree in Fire & Emergency Service Administration and previous experience with Larkspur Fire Protection District. In addition to his fire service experience, Chris started his own real estate appraisal company, Henninger Appraisal Company.

Chris was drawn to Frederick-Firestone Fire because of its strong culture and the genuine care employees have for one another. From his first day, that sense of family and teamwork stood out to him, and he is excited to join the organization and contribute to its commitment to serving the community.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time outdoors, whether fishing, camping, or hiking 14ers. He has also recently developed a love for pickleball and tries to play whenever he can. Chris lives with his wife, Erin, their son, Beau, and their pets, Daisy, Doug, Nimbus, and Klaus.

Jorge Herrera

Jorge joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with a diverse background that includes serving in the United States Marine Corps, working as an industrial maintenance mechanic, and serving as a maintenance supervisor. He holds an associate degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Jorge is excited to be a member of Frederick-Firestone Fire, where he can build relationships and become part of an organization whose culture already feels like family. He looks forward to learning from those around him, growing as a member of the team, and giving back to the community he now has the opportunity to serve.

Outside of work, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and their two dogs, Zelda and River. He enjoys hunting, hiking, paddle boarding, jiu-jitsu, weightlifting, and playing video games with his son, Jayden. Jorge is grateful for the opportunity to join the Frederick-Firestone Fire family and looks forward to the journey ahead.

Makoy Lucero

Makoy joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with an associate degree in Fire Science and prior fire service experience. He spent one year as a reserve firefighter with the Sterling Fire Department and two years working part-time with Galeton Fire District.

Makoy is excited to join Frederick-Firestone Fire because of the department’s growth and strong connection to the community. He looks forward to growing with the organization and contributing to its friendly and supportive culture.

Outside of work, Makoy is a big sports fan and enjoys supporting Colorado teams. He especially enjoys spending time with his roommates watching football and hunting. He also spends plenty of time supporting his girlfriend, who plays volleyball at UNC. Makoy is honored and excited to be part of Frederick-Firestone Fire and looks forward to working hard for the department and the community.

Ian Mincer

Ian Mincer, EMT/FF

Ian Mincer joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado, along with his EMT and Fire I training from Aims Community College. His previous experience includes serving as a reserve firefighter with La Salle Fire Protection District and working as an EMT with UCHealth EMS.

Ian grew up in a close-knit family and has been part of the rugby community since fourth grade, following in his dad’s footsteps. He still plays rugby and credits the sport and its culture as an important part of who he is.

Ian is especially excited to join Frederick-Firestone Fire because of the district's many programs and special teams, as well as the opportunities to become more involved. He says he loves the district's family-oriented culture and is looking forward to getting to know everyone on shift. And, of course, he’s already a big fan of Sammy and Siren!

Outside of the fire service, Ian enjoys a wide range of activities, from paddleboarding, hiking, local road trips, and lifting to riding his motorcycle, cliff jumping, rock climbing, and snowboarding. Whether he’s looking to unwind or get an adrenaline rush, Ian enjoys staying active and making the most of the outdoors.

Benjamin Myers

Benjamin Meyers, EMT/FF

Benjamin joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with his Fire I, EMT, and AAS in Fire Science Technology from Aims Community College. He brings 3.5 years of part-time firefighter experience with Galeton Fire, along with about five years of seasonal landscape installation experience.

Ben is excited to join FFFD for the people, culture, opportunities for growth, and the chance to be part of a training-focused department. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends; staying active outdoors; reading; and playing chess and Pokémon GO. He mainly enjoys climbing and bouldering, and he looks forward to getting more into rope stuff.

 

 

Aaron Offermann

Aaron joins Frederick-Firestone Fire with a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. Before joining the district, Aaron worked as a greenskeeper at Ptarmigan Country Club and as a research associate at CSU.

Aaron is excited for the opportunity to serve alongside the compassionate, dedicated, and family-oriented members of FFFD. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains, being with loved ones, and playing video games.
