Frederick-Firestone Fire District Awarded International Accredited Status with CFAI

On August 5th, the Frederick-Firestone Fire District was Awarded International Accredited Status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).
The FFFD is one of more than 300 agencies to achieve Internationally Accredited agency status with the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. (CPSE). Only 14% percent of the U.S. population is protected by an accredited agency.
Frederick-Firestone Fire District Board President Katie Maselbas stated that the agency’s achievement of Accredited Agency status “demonstrates the commitment of the agency to provide the highest quality of service to our community.” Maselbas also said, “We have also been able to use the Commission on Fire Accreditation International’s process as an initiative-taking mechanism to plan for the future of our community and locate areas where we can improve on the quality of the services we provided”.
The FFFD joins 25 Colorado fire agencies that are currently accredited.

Safety Corner: House Numbers
Help First Responders find your home quickly in the event of an emergency by making sure your house numbers are properly displayed. Consider the following:
Location: Is your house number easily visible from all angles of your home, including the street, the end of the driveway and the front door? During the holiday season, ensure decorations aren't blocking your house number.
Height: Make sure your house number is located at least 4" tall
Size: Are the numbers large enough to easily view?
Colors: Use colors that create a sharp contrast against your home's exterior
Lighting: Is your house number visible at night? Consider LED house numbers or installing lights that illuminate your house number
