As of today, the District provides 24 hour coverage to 30 square miles of area, which includes four and one-half miles of Interstate 25, five miles of Colorado State Highway 52, and the St. Vrain State Park.
In 2005, the United States Census Bureau ranked Firestone, Colorado as the fastest growing municipality and in 2010 ranked it as one of the best municipalities in Colorado. Frederick, Colorado was ranked the third fastest growing municipality. Anticipated population growth within the District is estimated to triple within the next seven years.
The District currently employs 42 uniformed staff, 3 administrative personnel, and 10 Reserve Firefighters and Cadets. The Districts’ four stations are staffed 24/7 with 2-4 Firefighter/EMT Basic or Paramedics.
The District presently has four Engines, one Aerial Apparatus, one Heavy Rescue, one Brush Truck, three ALS Ambulances, and five additional support vehicles. Over the past three years, the District has responded to an average of 1500+ calls annually. The District’s final incident tally for 2014 was 1,636 and we estimate the total number of calls for 2015 to total over 1,800.
